Projects
The support we deliver, thanks to your kind donations will affect communities all over the world. Initially while we grow, we might be able to help just a handful of small local causes, like supporting a family with a disabled child, purchasing a wheel chair for someone in need, or perhaps providing food for struggling families. As we grow (and have more donations at our disposal) our impact will increase. It's important to point out though that no matter who we help, YOU, as a donor have a vote on who that is. The more you donate, the louder your voice. Imagine what we could do with thousands of donors. Build schools, develop learning centres in developing countries, or even provide long term health support for hundreds of thousands of families all over the world. The opportunities are only limited to the donations you make.
We are still in our first year.
We deliver our first project in January 2022.
2023
Each year the foundation receives requests for help from various causes. These are emailed to the project team throughout the year. The foundation team reduce these requests down to 3 options for donors to vote on, based on the funds available, and the potential impact each project shows.
Only one project will receive support each year. It's up to the donors to place their votes and make that project possible. The option with the most vote will receive the support.
ALL THE DETAILS for each project option can be found in the 'Donor Voting' pack below.
Project Options:
1. The Memusi Foundation [Kenya]
2. Sustainable Schools Sanitation [Uganda]
3. Talk Club Introduce Talk Youth [U.K.]

Project Overview:
This project will establish an 8 acre farm that will deliver food to 1,000 children every day by growing staple crops of pawpaw, watermelon, tomato, onions, maize and beans. Based on a small-scale pilot scheme that has been running since 2021.
The Memusi Foundation have calculated a realistic output forecast of 264,000kg of produce which would generate £60,000 worth of food annually, based on local produce costs.
This food would create multiple opportunities, starting with free school meals for every child in our schools every single day. There would be provision for food to be distributed free to the most vulnerable families to
ward off the threat of starvation. There would be surplus produce to sell to the local community at a rate that is affordable for them and, through this, provide an additional financial return that would triple the value of the initial investment.

Who will the project help?
1,000 children with free school meals - alleviating the risk of malnutrition and starvation and limiting the risk of basic health issues to ensure their attendance in school every day, dramatically contributing to quality education outcomes

200 women would be directly supported with micro finance which would have a positive impact on up to 1,600 people.

£20,000 profit from selling farm produce would deliver £250,000 worth of healthcare treatment based upon what it would cost if patients sought healthcare themselves - this means 8,000 adults and 8,500 children would have access to free basic healthcare.

How will the project be delivered?
The farm concept is a proven approach based on the pilot that was started in 2021. We have identified a location with high potential in an area with a natural water source running from higher ground and with high soil fertility. The temperature and environment make this the perfect place for growing crops demonstrated by the high yield from our pilot project. We would work with local farmers with experience in that area, and with knowledge of good land management and pest control to ensure our project delivers successfully. As well as the purchase of land the initial investment would cover the preparation of the soil, the purchase of seed and relevant soil improvement treatment and fertiliser to support reliable growth. It would also pay for generators and the pipes needed for irrigation.

PROJECT LIVE UPDATES
We have committed to transparently sharing the story of donors funds from voting process, to transfer, to regulations, to implementation, failings and successes. The process of development is not linear, but each step is powerful, and important.
We will update you every chance we get and bring you into the process that goes on both here with our 196 team, but also from Kenya and the Memusi Team.

Following the community vote, the Memusi Project was selected as this year’s initiative. The vision was clear: transform 20 acres of arid land in West Kenya into a sustainable farm capable of supporting the local community. Behind the scenes, this phase focused on planning, coordination, and preparation. Teams were aligned, funding was allocated, and early groundwork began, including site assessments and addressing key challenges such as water access and infrastructure.

The first major progress came as work began on the land itself.
Dry, overgrown scrubland was cleared and the soil was turned, marking the physical beginning of the project. At the same time, essential systems were introduced - including water sourcing, irrigation piping, and solar-powered pumps to support long-term sustainability. The first planting areas were established, and a local team began working the land daily.

Within just a few months, the transformation was already visible.
The first crops began to grow, with fresh green shoots replacing previously barren land. The initial 8 acres became fully operational, followed by the development of an additional 7 acres. The team expanded to 18 workers, managing crops and solving practical challenges as the farm scaled - particularly around water distribution and maintaining consistent growth across a larger area.

With 15 acres now developed, the project has moved into a more stable and scalable phase. Planning is underway to complete the final 5 acres, bringing the farm to its full 20-acre potential.
The systems now in place - from irrigation to solar energy to local employment - provide a strong foundation for long-term sustainability and continued growth.

In just a matter of months, your contributions have helped turn dry, unused land into a thriving farm that:
-
Feeds over 1,000 school children
-
Employs 18 local workers
-
Generates income for the wider community
-
Creates opportunities for future projects, including education

Looking Ahead
The next phase focuses on completing the full farm, increasing production, and reinvesting profits back into the community - including the potential for new school development and further local initiatives.

Stay tuned!
